COTEC Corporation was established at Bongam-dong, Masan City in 1989. In July 1995, the company moved to the present plant at Palyong-dong, Changwon City. COTEC provides surface treatment technologies supporting the best quality product with the best human resources and the accumulated technologies. The technologies, more than 20 processes, include anodizing, hard chromium plating, zinc plating, electro- and electroless nickel plating, phosphating, etc. The application covers semiconductors(IT), Nuclear power generation, aerospace and defense industries. COTEC also provides a plant business that is related to manufacture processing facilities. For IT industry, we have developed technologies such as magnesium anodizing and magnesium chromate for the first time in Korea. We have also developed the technology for a hologram with the glass substrate, which is currently applied to the plating of IT products. For the nuclear power generation industry, we developed optimized chromium plating and other related technologies to acquire certification from GE. The technologies are applied to the hard chromium plating for the parts of nuclear power generation facilities. For the aerospace industry, we have installed process lines to acquire quality-related approvals from Boeing in U.S.A. and SAFRAN in Europe; we have been also acquired AS9100/ISO9001 and NADCAP certifications. We have made a contract for the plating parts for the B787 aircraft series for the period of 2005-2008. For the defense industry, we have constructed a dedicated facility for the chromium plating of large-diameter parts for the first time in Korea. For the plant business, we have supplied defense-related plating equipments which previously had been supplied by overseas companies. We have also developed plating equipments and environment-related technologies.  With the research center founded in Jan. 2004, we have invested in developing new technologies related to the finishing of parts for defense and aerospace industry, database building and green environmental facilities. With the efforts of 350 employees, we are planning to expand the processing lines to be the comprehensive surface treatment company with the world best technology by 2020.
