① Bending nagnet
Bending magnet that was installed in the KSTAR NBI system helps to remove ions that are unconverted to neutrals from the main beam stream. It is a transparent type, which transmits ions at different specified bending angles depending on the mass and the energy of the ion. This bending magnet is to reduce the power load on the ion dump to a level below the allowable limit, namely 10 MW/m², by expanding the beam cross-section on the dump plate.
