Overview

LoRa is a wireless communication technology for sensor networking and an LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) communication system that can transmit a small amount of data over long ranges. Lory is a wireless communication modem that uses “LoRa,” an LPWA technology. Lory can be used without a wireless mobile connection like Wi-Fi or 3G/LTE and allows you to text and send your current location based on GPS information in remote areas with no coverage available. This is useful when hiking the remote wilderness, trekking, traveling, or fishing, and can also be used in places where a limited wireless connection is available, such as construction sites, mines, and vessels. Additionally, Lory can be used to send/receive messages in case of a mobile communication failure due to natural disasters.

Great Portability

Lory is a business card-sized device with Bluetooth (BLE4.1) available and works by pairing up with smart devices such as smartphones. Lory overcomes spatial limitations with its wireless connection and can be kept inside a pocket or bag or used as an accessory.

Low Power Device

With collective System Base’s low power know-how, Lory can be used continuously for up to 24 hours. It is an environmentally-friendly product that minimizes power consumption, automatically entering its low-power mode when there is no communication or is otherwise not in use.

Long Range Communication

Combining the long-range specialized LoRa technology and System Base’s own communication technology, Lory offers coverage of up to 2km in the cities and 10km in the open space. Even in the areas where network coverage is not available due to base station failure, Lory owners can send SMS, locations, and emergency signals between them within the communication range.
