A pipeline laying operation may have a requirement to simultaneously lay a small diameter service line to umbilicals. During installation, to ensure that the secondary lines are adequately supported between surface and seabed, they may be attached to the main pipeline using a clamp arrangement - "piggybacking".
Our piggyback clamping system uses a moulded saddle, tailored to the radius of the main line and secured by circumferential straps. The saddle, encompassing the secondary line holding it in place, has an axial split on its base to allow easy installation of the secondary line.
