Fire fighting products, Nozzle, Monitor, Valve, Connector, Fire hydrant and more
DRY BARREL HYDRANT Dry barrel hydrant is an outdoor type that is installed in the residential area or around various facilities to be supplied with firefighting water quickly during fire, and the hydrant is connected to the underground pipe to be operated above ground. When the valve is open, the firefighting water is supplied through the outlet, and when closed, the water inside is drained automatically to prevent risk of freezing burst. The 6” large-size installed mostly in plant facilities such as petrochemical complex has 3-WAY of Pump Connector and Hose Connector, and 4-WAY possible for installing even the monitor. Also, Open/Close Indicator Hydrant is possible to check the open/close condition and Its pressure. The 6” mid-size has 3-WAY and 4-WAY, and 4” small-size is composed of 2-WAY. Various valves can be selected and attached for both convenience and speed, and the 4-WAY can select the Valve, Monitor & nozzle according to field condition.
Type 1. Large-size 6” hydrant : a. Open/Close Indicator type 3-WAY, 4-WAY 2. Mid-size 6” hydrant: 3-WAY, 4-WAY 3. Small-size 4” hydrant: 2-WAY (Horizontal type, 15 degrees type)
Characteristics 1. Main parts are used with excellent corrosion-resistant material to have long durability and smooth open/close operation. 2. The structure can tolerate a maximum of 50 Bar pressure, and there is no deformation or damage on high pressure or impact. 3. The products are manufactured in thread-type and flange-type possible for use in various purposes, and the valve or monitor can be used conveniently depending on the field condition. 4. Tar-epoxy coating and electro-deposition coating is applied inside the hydrant to minimize deterioration from corrosion or contamination of the firefighting water. |
MAIN VALVE OPERATION
DRY BARREL HYDRANT(Open/Close Indicator)
(Patent NO: 10-0878489)
This large-size hydrant is mostly used in plant facilities and fire truck or even monitor can be installed. Large quantity of firefighting water can be used, and even in the installed state, the upper cover and the housing can be removed to replace the internal parts. Vibration owing to the firefighting water was minimized on use, and drainage of internal firefighting water is enabled quickly after use. Unlike other existing hydrant, it can always check the open/close state, and on opening, the discharge pressure can be checked for safe use.

Caution on Hydrant Installation 1. Appropriate buried depth should be maintained for freeze protection 2. Gravel and sand are supplied sufficiently around the drain hole before burying to enable complete drainage. 3. On piping work, the foreign substances inside the pipe must be removed completely to prevent seat damage. 4. Excessive operation must be avoided on test operation after installation, and foreign substances and leakage must be inspected first.
Hydrant Disassembly & Assembly Method 1. Close PIV to block the water supply to fire hydrant. 2. Hydrant wrench is used to open the Hose Connector Cap, and the Operation Nut must be opened completely to the Open direction. 3. 24mm spanner is used to first disassemble the fixed bolt on the hydrant cover (For OPEN/CLOSE Indicator-type hydrant, the cover must be lifted slightly to separate the housing and the connected high-pressure hose, and caution must be taken not to change the Indicator Shaft), and The cover is removed. 4. 19mm spanner is used to disassemble the fixed bolt on the bearing cover flange, and the Operating Nut turned counter-clockwise for complete removal. 5. 24mm spanner is used to disassemble the remaining fixed bolts on the housing, and the housing is removed carefully to prevent damage on the O-ring inside the Rod Sleeve and Housing. 6. Seat Wrench is fit on the upper square rod to be turned slowly counter-clockwise, and the Valve Seat Set is removed from the Drain Ring. 7. The hydrant is lifted carefully to have no damage from impact, and the damaged parts are exchanged. 8. The hydrant is reassembled in the reverse order of disassembly. (The OPEN/CLOSE Indicator-type hydrant is assembled to prevent the high-pressure hose from twisting when assembling the hydrant cover, and the hydrant wrench is used to close the hydrant. The Indicator Shaft must be at the Close indicator line.)
Caution on Hydrant Disassembly & Assembly ㆍThe disassembled parts must be placed on top of protective pad to prevent any foreign substances. ㆍAt least two workers must work in one group on disassembly due to heavy parts. ㆍGrease must be applied sufficiently on reassembly. ㆍBolt & Nut must be fastened completely to prevent leakage on the joints. |
