Principle Description
Mass Flowmeter based on the Coriolis principle can directly measure the process fluid mass flow rate, density and temperature. When acceleration is applied to the rotating mass that is made up of the fluid flowing through the tubes in the sensor, gyroscopic deflections of the flow sensing tubes occur. These gyroscopic deflections are converted into signals that are related to the mass flow through the flow sensor.The signals are fed directly to the converter. The fluid density is also measured by sensing changes in the frequency of oscillation of the flow tubes, The Platinum Resistance Temperature Detector is located in the sensor. The other parameters of the process fluid can be obtained on the basis of the mass rate, density and temperature.
The Safety barrier board provides an intrinsical sale interface for flow meter use in hazardous areas. The converter interface board provides excitation to the flow sensor and signal conditioning of flow sensor outputs prior to digital processing. The processor board provides digital signal processing of the signals from the flow sensor interfaces and calculates mass flow, volumetric flow, density, and temperature. The processor board controls the LCD display and monitors the keypad, and also monitors or controls the other 10 signals that pass through the I/O part.
The processor board outputs a frequency that is proportional to the flow rate : 0 to 10 kHz, 24VDC square wave signal. The processor board outputs a 4 to 20mA signal that is proportional to the value of the selected variable. The processor board can also make communication according to the agreement by the serial interface.
