Middle box types include Tape Joint type (TJ), Prefabricated Joint type (PJ), Pre-molded Joint type (PMJ) and Class 2 type.
The outdoor type is used to connect overhead lines and underground lines for outdoor substations using a ceramic or polymer insulating tube for external insulation. The ozone-resistant type uses a ceramic insulating tube with a long surface leakage distance to prevent flash over by contamination of salt or dust at seashores or in factory areas. The components include Bushing, Epoxy bushing, a rubber stress cone, conductor rod, spring compressor and protective tube.
