Overview

Train Radio protection System (TRPS) is a safety system that quickly alerts dangerous situation to all 
trains operating within 2~4km from the alerting position to decrease train speed or to stop the trains. 
In the event of alert signal, drivers are required to take appropriate action. If the drivers don’t take any 
action within the required time, the train will automatically stop. Shalom Engineering successfully has 
supplied TRPS for all locomotives of Korail since 1999

- Protection receiving function: data receiving and decoding on coded protection situation
- Emergency braking function: automatic emergency braking after receiving protection situation
- Situation recording function: monitoring communication status, and drivers’ working status on equipment
- Analyzing function: analyzing the information on protection operation 
  (equivalent to black boxes of air planes)
- Other functions: coping with radio wave trouble by digital codes
