Cathodic Protection Cable is a multi stranded tinned copper conductor insulated with high density polyethelene (HDPE) or cross linked polyethelene. The cables can be further reinforced with galvanised steel wire braid (GSWB) or Kevlar to give further tensile strength for deep water applications. Cathodic protection cables are used in cathodic systems to protect against galvanic and electrolytic corrosion in underground or submerged metallic structures.
In cases where high levels of chlorine and other acids are present an inner jacket of Kynar is extruded over the primary conductor.
